Fortinet Integration Architecture

The BAS Platform initiates simulated attacks against the network to test perimeter defenses. Traffic passes through the FortiGate NGFW, which generates immediate security events and raw log telemetry. Security events flow into FortiSIEM for correlation and parsing, while parsed event logs and raw firewall logs feed back into the BAS Platform via API/Log integrations to validate security posture and measure efficacy.

Streamlined Logic

1. Simulate Attack: The BAS Platform generates simulated threat vectors and sends attack traffic toward the FortiGate NGFW.

2. Enforce & Log: FortiGate NGFW inspects the simulated attack traffic, generates Security Events, and produces Raw Logs detailing the firewall's blocking/detection actions.

3. Ingest & Correlate: FortiSIEM ingests the Security Events from FortiGate NGFW to perform real-time correlation and threat analysis.

4. Parse & Feedback: FortiSIEM processes those events into Parsed Logs and feeds them back into the BAS Platform via API/Log integration.

5. Direct Raw Feedback: Concurrently, Raw Logs from FortiGate NGFW are fed directly back into the BAS Platform via API/Log integration for complete visibility into perimeter performance.
